Why Do I Do the Things That I Do?
My WHY do I do the things that I DO? My “Thisisthereason” why I am passionate about healthy and living the Abundant Life.
My parents.
That’s it. It’s my parents. The things they went through with their health and life taught me so much.
How to do things different.
How to choose better.
It gave me a passion to be better and choose better and live better.
A trajectory I am still on.
Health and well-being are my passions. Living a full, beautiful life is my goal. I love that I get to help others do the same.
Why I do the things I do: My Parents’ Story.
My Mom grew up in central Wisconsin as one of 9 kids. My Dad grew up in southeastern Wisconsin as the oldest of 3. Mom’s family was dirt poor and often talked about running to the outhouse and having no electricity. Dad’s family was better off living in this area. Unfortunately, he dealt with abuse in his home. They both were taught to work hard and to grow their own food. My grandparents in southeastern Wisconsin still had a huge garden when I was a child.
My parents loved to garden, and my sister, two brothers, and I grew up eating from the garden. But we also ate whatever food we could get cheaply. They didn’t have a lot of money, so they did the best they could. Mom shopped sales, discounted grocery stores, and the commodity foods we could get back then. Later on, from the various food programs. Mom worked for SHARE. It was a once-a-month food distribution program that fed LOTS of people in Wisconsin and the surrounding states.
When Dad was gone, we would eat very cheaply. Dad needed money for food and fuel on the road. That left us with very little. Boxes of Macaroni and Cheese, sometimes without milk. The cheapest hot dogs she could get at the time, supplemented sometimes with the garden produce were our meals.
Why I do the things I do: My Dad.
My Dad was a truck driver all his life. He traveled most of Wisconsin in the early days, the US, and parts of Canada when I was older. He ate lots of meals at McDonalds and various truck stops. His diet was not a healthy one. Once, when I was with him, we got Reese’s Pieces, Oreos, and chocolate milk for dinner. I don’t know how often he did that when he was by himself. However, that is one memory I have never forgotten. To me, it was fun and a little naughty!!
His brother passed away from heart disease when he was around 20. His father passed away from heart disease and diabetes in his 60’s. I don’t remember my uncle; I was too young when he passed. But I remember my Grandpa. I loved him so much!! He would take us for tractor rides around his large property. My Dad outfitted his tractor for him to drive because, by then, he had lost both of his legs.
Dad was also diagnosed with diabetes and heart issues, so it would follow that he expected the same end. Those years were hard for all of us because he became depressed and angry. I was out of the house by then, married with my own family, but it affected us all.
Why I do the things I do: Life Change.
My parents did the best they could. But they just weren’t taught how to manage diabetes and heart disease with diet. Not in a way they could comprehend. It wasn’t until Dad had a life-changing stroke that they were connected with a woman who did get their attention. She was an amazing woman. A Nurse Practitioner who spoke right to my father. She took the time with him and looked him in the eyes.
No one had ever really given him the time and listened to him. She did. And she saved his life. Through diet and medication changes, he lost over 150 lbs and went off ALL diabetes medications. He went from being in a wheelchair to walking with a cane. All because someone LISTENED.
My Mother ended up having her own major health struggles. The last 2 years of her life were excruciating. They both passed away last year, one at the beginning of the year, the other at the end.
Why I do the things I do: My Thoughts
I can’t help but think, if they could have found someone who really listened to them. Really heard them, years earlier. Their lives could have been so much different. If they had tried to eat the diabetic diet years prior to that stroke. If they had taken some supplements and vitamins, would they still be here? Would their lives have been better?
I think so.
Now, my passion is to help people. I don’t want to live a life of pain and torment. My family tree is changing, and I will not fall prey to illness. I want my family, and others, to live an Abundant Life. Healthy and strong.
It’s because of them that I do what I do. For my parent’s sake. For my family’s sake.
Releasing Trapped Emotions, Imbalances, and Belief Systems allows the body to come into a place of healing. I am changing bloodlines by removing Inherited Emotions, Imbalances, and Belief Systems. The AO Scan shows us areas of the body that might need a little more support. Using that tool, I get to work on specific areas using the Body Code.
Juice Plus is a food tablet that helps to bridge the gap in our nutrition. Often, we don’t eat enough fruits and vegetables. 2 capsules of Fruits and 2 capsules of Vegetables give us over 30! For me, adding these in has helped my body heal in a variety of ways. One of my biggest areas is my digestive system! Always a finicky area for me, I now notice much more normal digestion! For the first time in my life!!
A HUGE win for me!!
