Memories. Good. Bad. And Ugly.

Memories. Good. Bad. And Ugly.

Memories.. Good. Bad. And Ugly.

Funny how memories work. We can have good memories or bad memories and really ugly memories. We can have blocked memories. Sometimes memories are sketchy, not so clear and just a little glimmer in the darkness.

Its all part of our pasts. Part of our history. If they are good memories we love to share them and reminisce about the good times we had. Sometimes the people we are with trigger histories we have had with them and we can remember it with them. It feels so good to have that connection with another person.

Sometimes those histories are not so good and it triggers painful memories or even worse reactions or triggers.

Memories are a fascinating thing. According the the free dictionary, Memory is defined in this way:

Sometimes however, memories can be a problem. Traumatic experiences give us bad memories. Bad experiences leave us with bad memories. Sometimes even seemingly good experiences can leave us with some sort of bad emotion left behind.

What I have seen over years of working with people to release them from their past pain, is that memories have some power. I have learned some fascinating things about memories and our minds and that power that memories have over us.

Good bad or indifferent, memories do indeed affect us. We may not even be able to consciously understand what is happening or why or tell you why we behave a certain way. But your mind can. Your subconscious has it all stored away.

Dr. Caroline Leaf on Thoughts and Memories:

According to Dr. Caroline Leaf: (you can click the link to read the whole article and find other fascinating information on her website.)

The mind is made up of trillions and trillions of thoughts. A thought is a real physical thing that occupies mental real estate in the brain and mind. A thought is built into the brain as you use your mind—that is, as you think, feel and choose. Thoughts are located in three different places: your brain, your mind, and the cells of your body.

Inside the thought are the embedded memories—so a thought is made of memories, and there can be any number of memories, thousands even, in a thought, just as there are hundreds or even thousands of branches on a tree. For example, the thought could be that I am concerned about my family member. Within this thought, there will be hundreds or more memories related to this concern. The thought is therefore the big picture, and the details of the thought are the memories.”

The Types of Memories:

“There are three types of memories in a thought:

  1. Informational memories are all the details: particulars, facts, data, associations, links, and so on associated with that thought. These are like the branches on a thought tree.
  2. Emotional memories are the feelings associated with the information memories. These are like the leaves on the branches of a thought three.
  3. Physical memories are the physical embodiments of the sensations experienced at the time the thought was built, which are coupled with the emotional memories and informational memories. These are built into every cell of our body and are re-experienced when we recall the informational and emotional memories, because these three parts of the thought are inseparable” (also Dr. Caroline Leaf)

All of this information to say that memories are pretty powerful. When we have locked away memories, traumatic memories, or even just a rough time in our lives, those things can cause problems. Dr. Leaf says that memories and thoughts are even trapped in the cells of our bodies. Our entire bodies are affected by thoughts.

Memories… Good. Bad. And Ugly.

Memories can be Good. They can be bad. And they can be ugly. But we can change the power they have had over us.

When I use Emotion Code or Body Code, I release the emotions or imbalances connected with a memory from the body. They can be anywhere in the body or soul. You don’t have to relive the memory in any way and you may not even actually recall the memory until hours or days later. All of these things are in your subconscious which is like a massive super computer that remembers everything you have ever done.

Releasing using Body Code:

Its a very simple process where I just ask your subconscious yes or no questions, follow my flow chart, and then swipe over your governing meridian 3 times. That is enough to release the trapped emotion or imbalance and bring your body back into order. Most clients do not feel anything at the time, but often say they feel “lighter” after.
