Following MY Dreams

Years ago, I read a book called “the Dream Giver”. I got so mad, I threw it across the room!!!  Hubby gets to follow his dreams. Not me.  

At the time, I was swamped with kids, homeschooling, and all that goes with it. I had a dream in my heart always to be something “when I grew up”. Lots of career ideas floated around in my head, including writing. It wasn’t yet time for me because I had too much going on. To be sure, I understood and felt very much called to be a Mom and realized that was my most important job. There just was always that feeling that there was something more for me. 

In my 30’s, I came to know God for myself. I had been working as a Sunday School leader in our Lutheran church and homeschooling, but God was doing something more in me. He led me to Him. So I asked Jesus into my heart. Little did I know what that all meant for me!!  

People came into my life like I had never experienced before. Yes I had friends before, but not like these people. They prayed for me, over me and they discipled me. I learned so much and learned that I could really KNOW God. 

These people ministered to me and helped me heal my broken heart. They helped me find my identity in Christ and that I am His child. God, through them, exposed things in my heart and soul that needed to go. I learned that life is not a competition. It’s not about beating everyone else, rather, its about running the race that I had to run and running it to the best of my ability.

Now, I get to help others find their own dreams and get out of whatever pits they may be in. I am a certified Life Coach that has the privilege of helping others find their own dreams and purpose! As a Life Coach, I get to help others remove  all hinderances and shake off the things that have kept them from achieving all God has called them too!!
