Victoria Reinke, Author
Hi!! I am A Momma to 9, Grandma/Nana to 9- and counting, and Wife to Todd for 36 years.
I started writing children’s books a few years ago. God woke me up in the middle of the night with a story about our horse, Barney. I had written the whole story on a scrap piece of paper. Then I sat on it for several years. Eventually, I began working on it and published it. That book is called “Barney Goes to the Horse Show”.
I illustrated that one myself, because I couldn’t find someone to illustrate it for me. I do like drawing, but it is not my passion. So when I met Marianna, I was so excited!
She IS passionate about God and her artwork and it shows. Her illustrations in my next book, “Don’t Leave the Coop!” are engaging, creative, and SO FUN!
“Don’t Leave the Coop!” was such a fun book to work on with her. This one, I had in mind for several years as well. Initially, it was a story about a little rooster we had who would not leave the coop. He would stay in the coop on a perch when the door was open for them to forage. That story was more about courage. In the winter of 2023, God again downloaded a story about obedience, which became the story “Don’t Leave the Coop!”
The Hens were told to stay in the coop for safety, but when the coop door opened, out they went. Reginald, the rooster scolded them and called them back into the coop, but they would not listen! Until it was almost too late!
Based on Scriptures in Ephesians 6:1-3, “Children, obey your parents as you would the Lord, because this is right. 2 Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, 3 so that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life in the land.”
Our children need to learn that obedience is a good thing. And that is what my book is about; being obedient even when the fun thing to do is disobey.
Watch for my next book coming out early 2025, currently titled, “Millie and the 7 Goats”. A new book in the works about identity and knowing who you are.
