I am Victoria Reinke, Mom of 9, Grandma to 9 and Wife of Todd.
Children’s books have always been special to me, and I have my very own collection! I have many favorite authors, including Don and Audrey Wood, Stan and Jan Berenstein, Lois Lensky, and so many others. (These are just the ones that popped into my head as I was writing this!)
Now of course, so many names are flooding my brain, but I am not going to write them all. Suffice it to say, I LOVE children’s authors!!
As a Grandma/Nana, I was shocked to see the titles and content of some of the children’s books my kids were getting for gifts at their showers. I didn’t really decide “Then and There” to be a children’s book author. I had already had some children’s books on my computer and my Barney book was already published.
No. I had this story in mind, along with many others, and just decided it was time to publish my stories. No more “Junk Books,” as I like to call them. Time for some good, enjoyable but with a lesson, books again.

“Don’t Leave the Coop!” a Lesson in Obedience.
“Don’t Leave the Coop!” Is a fun, engaging story about disobedient hens and a very obedient rooster! The Farmer told them to stay in the coop, but the temptation to venture outside was just too strong for the hens! !
And out they went!
This book was started several years ago. At that time, we had a little Banty rooster who would prefer to stay in the coop when all the other birds went out of the coop daily. I had the beginnings of a story about courage. My little rooster was afraid to go out of the coop until one day, the hawk flew over.
Well that story evolved into this one and the rest is history.
Marianna was gracious enough to work with me on the illustrations. She took my words and brought them to life! The illustrations are colorful and engaging!
Coming soon: a new book about Identity featuring a Wonderful Mule, Millie and 7 Sweet, Fun, Little goats! This will be a fun story about Who You Are!
